2017 APIASF Awards

APIASF is proud to recognize the following individuals and organizations at our Reaching Higher Gala for their contributions in increasing access to higher education for AAPI students. Their achievements have made a difference in the lives of AAPI students with their success in college and beyond.

Higher Education Award

The APIASF Higher Education Award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to education and shown a dedication to the AAPI community throughout his or her career. In recognition of the 10th anniversary of Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions (AANAPISIs), APIASF is proud to recognize three individuals for their collective efforts in the authorization of AANAPISIs:

Lisa Hasegawa, Assistant Director for Federal Affairs, University of California Los Angeles

Honorable Dr. Robert Underwood, President, University of Guam

Honorable Esther Puakela Kia'aina, Executive Director, Pacific Basin Development Council

Inspiring Dreams Award

The APIASF Inspiring Dreams Award is presented to an individual who has been a significant role model or inspiration for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders or an organization that embodies this value.
