To commemorate the first ten years of the federal designation of Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions (AANAPISI), the 2017 Summit Workshop will create space to reflect on past accomplishments, current challenges, and future successes. APIASF is committed to building nationwide capacity for AANAPISIs, and we are excited to announce that Workshop attendees will collaborate to produce a set of strategic recommendations to guide this success.
During the Summit Workshop, APIASF will host a growing network of researchers, community-based organizations, institutions of higher education and other public stakeholders dedicated to increasing access to and pathways through college for underrepresented Asian American and Pacific Islander students. This event builds on feedback received during the 2016 Minority Serving Institution Convening at Richland College and 2017 APAHE AANAPISI Pre-Conference in Oakland, California.
Sept 29, 2017, 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
This workshop features a facilitated space for AANAPISI administrators and staff to identify key challenges in the areas of research, advocacy, and awareness. Please note that this session is open to AANAPISI administrators and staff only.
Sept 30, 2016, 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
This workshop connects AANAPISI administrators and staff with community-based organizations and other public stakeholders with the shared goal of developing a set of strategic recommendations aimed to meet the needs identified in the first workshop. This session is open to the public.
APIASF is excited to announce that the strategic recommendations in the areas of research, advocacy, and awareness will provide guidance in the establishment of an AANAPISI capacity-building institute that will help shape the future success of AAANAPISIs nationwide.
